Jewellery Care
Jewellery Care
General
Be sure to handle your jewellery with care
Remove your jewellery when washing your hands or using corrosive products that could permanently damage precious metal, stones or pearls
Take your regular activities into consideration when wearing your jewellery, including potential for impact
Keep your jewellery away from intense sources of heat and extreme temperature changes
Silver Jewellery
Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish over time, the amount of tarnishing (oxidation) that occurs is dependent on the skin and care habits of the wearer. We recommend cleaning your jewellery with a soft cloth to prevent the natural process of tarnishing.
Gemstones
Gemstones, including amber, turquoise, opals and pearls etc can be stained by oils or liquids, so it’s important to avoid contact with face creams, lotions and household chemicals.
Storing your jewellery
Jewellery
Pieces of jewellery become scratched when they come into contact with one another. We recommend you store them individually in the pouches that you were given at the time of purchase.
You are strongly advised not to place several pieces of jewellery together without protection.
ChainsChains should be closed and laid flat so as to avoid the formation of knots.
Fine jewellery. Curious creations.
ZEIGMANS is a family-run jewellery shop and studio in Brighton’s North Laine. Formerly Curiouser Collective, we bring together sculptural silver and gold jewellery, carefully selected gemstones and unusual objects with stories to tell.
Our roots reach back to 1991, when jeweller Paterson Riley Founder of The Great Frog 1972 and designer Of Harry Potter Jewellery Ingrid Zeige established Curiouser & Curiouser. Their independent spirit and passion for craftsmanship continue through three generations of our family.
Today, JAWZ The Jeweller, Natasha Susman and Nadja carry that story forward, bringing their own ideas and skills to a shared love of extraordinary things.
A name with family at its heart ZEIGMANS
ZEIGMANS brings together the family surnames Zeige and Susman, representing generations of creativity, craftsmanship and individuality.
The name also inspired our emblem. Zeige connects to the German word zeigen, meaning 'to show' or 'to point', while Susman is symbolically represented by the horseman. Together, they form our guiding figure - a horseman pointing the way, lantern in hand, illuminating a world of curiosity and discovery.
The final S carries another special meaning: Signature. A tribute to Paterson Riley, founder of The Great Frog, whose distinctive craftsmanship and historic PR and PRR marks remain an important part of our family's jewellery heritage.
Three legacies, one name. ZEIGMANS.
